#6 Heat Host Huskies

This weekend: The UBC Okanagan Heat women’s volleyball team head into their sixth week of conference play returning home and looking to take advantage of their home court against the Saskatchewan Huskies this weekend. UBC Okanagan hopes to continue on their two game winning streak in Kelowna on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m.

Head to Head: 6-1 The Heat lead Huskies 6-1 in regular and preseason games, with the one loss coming at home in November of 2012.

Team depth: Playing without Canada West All Star Katy Klomps and UBC Okanagan went to Winnipeg and swept away the Wesmen. Erin Drew stepped in for Klomps and played very well. Coach Manuel also rotated his setters playing Emily Oxland Friday and Chandler Proch on Saturday.

UBC Okanagan last weekend: Back to their winning ways the Heat women took care of the Wesmen in Winnipeg shutting out their prairie host in two well-executed matches (25-11, 25-14, 25-23) and (25-19, 25-14, 25-21).

UBC Okanagan win in sets: In ten league games the Heat are now 6-4 and five of those games went the distance.

3 set matches: 3-0; 4 set matches: 1-1; 5 set matches 2-3.

Huskies last weekend: The Saskatchewan Huskies were defeated 2-0 against the 9th ranked Calgary Dino’s; a team the Heat ladies have consistently beaten throughout the last two seasons.
