It was a tough Saturday for the Okanagan College Coyotes getting blasted by the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs in the March Game of the Month.

The Dawgs used a five run first inning on route to a 12-1 victory.  They jumped on the Coyotes and starter Zack Burlon scoring five times on five hits, three of those runs coming with two out.

Burlon then settled in and retired the next 10 batters, before allowing two more runs in the top of the fifth.

The Yotes offense struggled against the sinker ball pitcher Mack Major.  He recorded his first victory of season with a complete game gem, allowing just four hits.

The Dawgs tacked out five more runs in the top of the sixth, sending 10 men to the plate.  The inning was highlighted by a grand slam from Ren Visser off reliever Zac Yandeau.

The lone run the Coyotes scored was unearned as Garrett Wiese came across on a throwing error.

The Coyotes will face the Dawgs again on Sunday.

The April Game of the Month is tentatively scheduled for April 12 and the Okanagan Athletics home opener.
