Coyotes Split Weekend

The Coyotes finished the weekend 3-3 playing four games against the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Wolfpack and two versus the Okanagan Athletics of the BC Premier Baseball League.
In Game 1 against the Wolfpack, starting pitcher Zach Burlon threw four innings, allowed two hits, two walks and struck out two finishing with a no decision as the Coyotes fell 3-1.
At the plate Tony Olson finished 2-4, while Logan Wedgewood was 2-3 with a pair of walks.
The Coyotes bats came alive in the night cap on Friday, beating the Wolfpack 9-3. Aaron Barrett was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored while Mike Rogers was 1-3 with two RBIs and a walk.
Joel Lamont threw three innings, allowing two runs, two hits, three walks and struck out four.
On Saturday the Coyotes played a doubleheader with the Athletics. In the first game the Coyotes won 6-2 behind starter Brett Fleming. The sophomore threw four innings, struck out two while giving up a run on just two hits.
Offensively Brennan Reidy was 2-2 with two doubles and run scored.
The second game with the Athletics finished with the Coyotes winning 6-2, again. Barrett collected two doubles and two RBIs. Starter Joey Fraser lasted four innings striking out five, allowing a run on three hits.
On Sunday the scene shifted to Kamloops and TRU. In the first game the Coyotes fell 5-4 as starter Austin Orsted threw five innings in a no decision. He allowed a run on five hits and struck out two.
Offensively the Coyotes saw Tony Olson finish 2-5 with a double, Rogers was 2-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Meanwhile Reidy collected a double, run scored and stolen base.
In the second game at TRU the Coyotes were doubled up 4-2. Starter Brandon Becking finished with a no decision, lasting four innings and allowing a run on three hits with three strikeouts.
Rogers continued to swing a hot bat with two more hits, two walks and two stolen bases. Wedgewood was 1-4 with a double, walk and swiped a bag.
This week the Coyotes continue their fall exhibition schedule with five games with the Athletics. Wednesday night will be the first of five at 6:30pm at Elks Stadium.
