Falcons Win Game of the Month
Posted in Featured, Game Of The MonthThe Kelowna Falcons made it two straight on Monday night with a convincing 6-1 win of the Kitsap Bluejackets. In the first two games of the series the Falcons have outscored the Bluejackets 18-2.
For the second straight night the Falcons got a wonderful pitching performance from their starting pitcher. Cord Cockrill in his West Coast League debut threw seven solid innings allowing five hits for his first win of the summer.
The offense once again pounded out nine hits and four more doubles. They have now recorded nine doubles in the first two games of the series. Jace Conrad led all hitters with a 3-4 night with three RBIs, a run scored and a double. Kyle Pearson was 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Tyler Qualls recorded his team leading third doubleand finishing 2-4.
Kelowna’s Ryan Stajduhar who is fighting for a roster spot, got his first hit in the WCL; a double.
The Falcons and Bluejackets will conclude their three game series on Tuesday night. Right hander Cale Coshow from Oklahoma University is the scheduled starter. Gates open at 5:30pm, first pitch at 6:30pm on Key Chain Night. The first 400 fans through the gates will receive a complimentary Key Chain courtesy of Creative Trophies and Gifts.
