Glenn Ennis – Central Okanagan Hall of Fame

A member of Canada’s first ever World Cup rugby team in 1987 and would play in two other World Cups in 1991 and 1995.   He got his start in Rugby in Kelowna and on November 22 was inducted into the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame….Ryan talked with Glenn following his induction.

Also inducted on Thursday morning was volleyball player Erminia Russo, played for Canada at the 1996 Olympics, Alex Recsky in the “Builder Category.”  Alex has been in the sports community for 20 years, most of it volunteering.  The 1988 Okanagan Sun football club, entering in the “Team Category” after winning their first National Championship by going undefeated.  As well as Dr. Barry Urness enters the  Hall as the WAC-WR Bennett Special Recognition Award.  Dr. Urness worked tirelessly on improving the local sports scene until his death from cancer in June.  A legend in the Okanagan, Dr. Urness was a founding member of the Okanagan Sun, the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame Museum and helped resurrect high school football in Kelowna.
