It was a Happy Easter Weekend Classic for the Okanagan College Coyotes winning four of five games and a share of second place in the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC).

After a split on Friday and a victory on Saturday, the Yotes beat the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs 3-0 and the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack 6-2 on Monday.

In the first game on Monday against the Dawgs, starter Marcus Drewry threw a complete game shutout, scattering three hits and fanning three for his third win of the spring.

The offense scored twice in the first on a Brandon Graham triple, scoring Derek Shedden and Garrett Wiese (pictured).   It was Graham’s first triple and 13th RBI of the season.

The bats on both sides were quiet until the sixth when the Coyotes scored an insurance run as the double steal worked to perfection.  Sam Visona swiped second as Tyler Pentland stole home.

In the second game on Monday the Coyotes saw yet another gem thrown by their starting pitcher.  Tanner Collins recorded his second win of the spring allowing two runs on five hits and struck out seven in a 6-2 win over the Wolfpack.

The two clubs traded a pair of runs in the first inning.  After that Collins shut the door.

The Coyotes scored what turned out to be the game winning run in the third, then scored three more in the fifth.

Graham again knocked in two runs for his 15th RBI of the season, while Wiese collected two hits and an RBI.

The Coyotes (11-9) are tied for second in the CCBC and will travel to Calgary this weekend for a game against the Dinos and a pair against the Wolfpack.
