Kelowna may have the next Olympic swimmer in it’s own backyard.

19 year old Kierra Smith has her eyes squarely set on making Team Canada for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Currently in her club season with the Liquid Lightening, she is coming off winning the Provincial championship and is preparing for the Nationals in early August.   She currently holds the Provincial record for the 100m and 200m.  She is ranked third in the Country and 21st in the World.

She is currently attending the University of Minnesota, swimming in the Big 10 Conference.

Ryan caught up with her to talk about her two seasons and Rio 2016.
