The West Kelowna Sun Devils Junior Bantam’s ran for 700 yards of offense in their 60-20 win over the Vernon Marauders Sunday in round two of the Provincial Play-downs.  The Sun Devils had four players run over 100 yards including two over 200 yards on the day.

Nick Kopp had eight carries for 214 yards and three touchdowns of 80, 30 and 10 yards.  Nate Humes continued his season long domination of all opponents by rushing eight times for 248 yards including two majors of 75 and 52 yards.  Ty Troung had six carries for 110 yards and two touchdown runs of 54 and six yards while Chris Smith had six carries for 106 yards and a touchdown.  Smith would add 10 points on converts and an interception.  Jacob Mezei and Salem Clark were solid at quarterback for the Devils.

The Sun Devils built up a quick 30-6 first quarter lead scoring two touchdowns on their first three plays and then put the game away with a 44-12 half time lead.
On defense, the Sun Devils held Vernon to 20 points on the day which is about a third of what they have given up all season.  Mark Schuppener, Nate Humes, Mitch Kopp, Nick Kopp and Chris Smith led the defense for the Sun Devils.

The Sun Devils move onto the SIFC championship game on Sunday against the Mission Lions.  Kick-off is set for 2:00pm on Sunday at the CNC turf field.

The winner earns a trip to Victoria to play in the Provincial semi- final.

The Mission Lions will make their second straight trip to the SIFC title game after a convincing 46-0 victory over Salmon Arm.

Taylor Knoll led the way, rushing for 169 yards on 10 carries and four touchdowns.  His average run was 20.4 yards a carry. He also threw the ball going 8/11 for 108 yards and a touchdown pass. Chancelor Bevanda had an outstanding game as well rushing for 102 yards on five carries and one touchdown, catching four passes with one for a touchdown. Rounding out the scoring was Blaise Beauchemin scored a touchdown and threw 3/5 for 37 yards.
