The May Game of the Month was an exciting end to end game as the Armstrong Shamrocks beat the Kelowna Raiders 6-1 on Wednesday night.

The Shamrocks were out for payback after losing in Kelowna in April 6-5.  They opened the scoring at the 16:26 mark, Brennan Plante scored his first of three on the night on a beautiful feed from Steve Clark.
Plante tallied his second on the night six minutes later on the power play.

The Raiders had chances in the first period, however Shamrocks goalie Chad Pieper was unbelievable stopping shot after shot.

Finally in the second period the Raiders’ Victor Wiens was able to solve Pieper scoring a shorthanded goal at 15:08.

The Shamrocks restored their two goal lead at 7:57 when Kyle Versteeg scored.  Three minutes later Plante recorded the hat-trick with a laser beam past Raiders goalie Tanner Belsham.

In the third period the Shamrocks put the game on ice scoring two more goals including on a penalty shot.  Former Raider Travis Lee was award the penalty shot and made no mistake with under a minute to play.

The Raiders fall to 2-2, while the Shamrocks take sole possession of first place at 3-1.  The Raiders have the long weekend off as they prepare for a battle with the Rattlers in Kamloops on Friday May 23.  They don’t play another home game until June 20th.
