Posted in Featured, Sports

The Okanagan Rockets are returning to the Mac’s Midget Tournament at Christmas for a sixth consecutive season.

The 35th Annual Event will feature 25 of the top midget teams from Western Canada, the United States, and the world.

In 2011, Russia Severtal/Locomotiv claimed the championship with a 5-0 win over the UFA Bisons on New Years day. The Rockets went 1-2-1 in their four round robin games.

General Manager David Michaud commented on what the Mac’s means to the organization “Returning to the Mac’s is a huge source of pride for our group. Annually it goes down as one of the top experiences for our players, and it’s a great chance for us face some tremendous competition and see how we shape up against them. We are  excited to get going and be a part of the this great tradition.”

The Rockets will fly out on Christmas Day and the tournament will begin on Boxing Day.
