Sports Drive – Jerod Zaleski
Posted in Featured, SportsFor CFL fans in Kelowna, if you`re not a true Lions fans, some might question you, but for one Kelowna resident he has suddenly become a fan of the Montreal Alouettes.
22-year-old Jerod Zaleski signed a two-year contract—plus an option—with the Als last week, and will head to Montreal at end of this month for the club’s rookie camp.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound KSS grad now sees his CFL dream in a better light, after first talking about it 10 years ago while on the Mission sports fields playing junior bantam football in Kelowna’s minor system.
Zaleski is the first graduate (2007) from the Owls’ program to sign a pro contract since football returned to the school nine years ago.
Zaleski leaves for Montreal May 29 to take part in the CFL team’s rookie camp. The Alouettes main camp begins June 3.
