Tony Overton – OKM Soccer Champions

It was a magical season for the OKM Huskies senior boys soccer team in 2012.

An undefeated regular season, as the Huskies outscored their opposition 130+ goals for compared to 14 against.

Wednesday the perfect season culminated in a Provincial Gold Medal in the AA division.  The Huskies record their first provincial championship for OKM athletics in 20 years.  The game was won in dramatic fashion, on the seventh penalty kick.

A number of players had a terrific championship including tournament MVP Mackenzie Rigg and “Golden Boot” winner Dylan Wagner, awarded to the top striker of the tournament.

Andrew Stevenson was named one of the best of the championships, as a member of the “Commissionaire’s 16″ team; named for the best 16 players in the tournament.

Ryan talked with head coach Tony Overton about the championship and what it meant to win the first provincial title in 20 years for OKM.
