Five Okanagan Sun Win Major Awards

The British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) have announced their 2014 Major Award winners for the regular season along with the Conference All-Star Returner. Four Sun players and Head Coach Shane Beatty have been honoured.
Ranji Mattu Memorial Coach of the Year – Shane Beatty with a 9-1 record, becomes the first Sun Head Coach since Pete McCall won in 2011.
Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Michele Vecchio
Outstanding Offensive Back – Alex Bradley – 77 carries, 672 yards*, 8.7 average per carry and 5 touchdowns
Outstanding Defensive Back – Brennan Van Nistelrooy – 19 tackles, 8 assists, 2 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 4 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions
Outstanding Special Teams – Robbie Yochim – 33 punt returns, 685 yards*, 20.8 average per return, 4 touchdowns. 14 kick-off returns, 603 yards, 43.1 average per return* and 2 touchdowns

The Sun will host the Langley Rams in the BCFC Cullen Cup title game on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Apple Bowl. Ryan will have the play by play starting with the Kick-Off Show at 12:30pm
